Growing up in California I have gained a unique love for the ocean and water, yet I have also realized the strong impacts this has on our community. I hope to petition the reopening of a community pool in my small town to act as a gateway to water education. With experience in Child Development and lifeguarding, I have seen first hand the utter importance of water safety, especially for our youth. My  project is running a club in my school called the Outdoor Intellect Club or OINC in short. The club is focused on making my school more environmentally sustainable, and also participating in ways to help in environmental conservation outside of school. The initiatives that OINC is considering include: Tree planting,  Wilderness Survival workshops, environmental awareness campaigns, etc. So far, the club has done 2 initiatives: Installing more recycling bins in the school,
