About the Ambassador Program
The Water and Climate Change Ambassador Program is an initiative designed to educate and empower youth and young adults to become leaders in water conservation and climate action. Through this program, students learn about critical water-related challenges, such as scarcity, flooding, pollution, and the impacts of climate change, while developing leadership and advocacy skills.

AVI ANAND
​Avi Anand is a rising high school sophomore and has been passionate about the environment and wildlife ever since he was 4 years old (when he saved a hurt pigeon!). In the past 5 years he has been more heavily focused on ocean and marine life conservation. He is a NOAA Ocean Guardian Youth ambassador and has also now joined the Youth Oceanic Initiative’s executive board as a Graphic Design Director. He has also done (birthday) fundraisers for organizations like WWF and Whale Sanctuary Project ever since he was a kid. He loves coding and using AI/ML to transform the face of conservation. He has used AI/ML models the past three years in his science fair projects to tackle different ocean conservation challenges. He is an amateur Wildlife photographer as well and captured many Whale breaches and flukes in his Whale Watching trips! Reading is his topmost passion! Working with the World Water Hub group, he hopes to make a difference to ocean conservation working with like-minded youth.

PEARLNERRY AWUOR
Pearlnerry Awuor is a passionate community leader and human rights advocate based in Nakuru, Kenya. She leads a women-led initiative focused on empowering grassroots communities through environmental awareness, water conservation, and education for sustainable development. With a strong background in community organizing and advocacy, Pearl works closely with women and youths to address the intersecting challenges of water scarcity, pollution, and climate change. Through her work, she has spearheaded clean-up campaigns, community education programs, and policy dialogues that center the voices of women in environmental decision-making. She believes that sustainable water solutions must be rooted in local leadership and gender equity.
As a Water Ambassador, Pearl brings her deep commitment to protecting natural resources, promoting water justice, and inspiring collective action for a more equitable and sustainable future.

KOMAL BHARDWAJ
I have a Master's degree in Environmental Science, with specialized training in water treatment techniques, as well as industrial safety and environmental impact assessment (EIA). I have several book chapters published, reflecting my dedication to advancing environmental knowledge and research. My undergraduate experience as an NCC cadet instilled in me a deep sense of discipline, leadership, and teamwork. I plan to enhance my expertise through a sponsored course, to gain advanced skills and exposure to emerging environmental technologies and best practices. I have a solid foundation in both theory and application and am committed to contributing meaningfully to sustainable development and environmental protection efforts at both the local and global levels.

SABINE CASTRO
Sabine Castro is a passionate young leader in marine conservation based in New York City. At just 16 years old, she has already founded an international marine conservation organization for youth under eighteen called Dolphin Defenders, worked with NOAA to create an opportunity for youth representation for the Sanctuary Advisory Council, and become a Call for Kindness Fellow, a nationally awarded fellowship for young leaders. For this summer 2025 Sabine will be working with NASA on th edevelopment of a drone program for assessing environmental impacts of climate changes.

DIKSHANT
Dikshant is an agricultural graduate from Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Asia’s largest and India's leading agricultural university. He has a strong passion for uplifting the farming community by integrating technology and innovation into sustainable practices and is equally committed to improving the lives of underprivileged communities through inclusive and community-driven development.
He serves as the Director of Strategic Initiatives at the Paryatan Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to providing free, quality education to children in underserved communities. At Paryatan, Dikshant leads multidisciplinary teams, mentors volunteers, and helps design impactful projects that intersect education, sustainability, and social equity. His work bridges grassroots action with academic insight, and he is passionate about promoting water stewardship, climate resilience, and sustainable development at both the local and global levels.

REINE ETOUNDI
ETOUNDI MBARGA Andrée Reine Anoula, 19, a student passionate about geomatics, the environment, and climate. I am committed to sustainable water management in Africa. My journey combines academic learning, international certifications, and hands-on projects in surveying, GIS, and environmental justice, with a strong drive for local impact.

FONCHA VALERY FOTABONG
Foncha Valery Fotabong is a 29-year-old Legal and development Professional from Cameroon, with a strong academic background and a growing expertise in peace building and environmental sustainability. He holds a master’s degree in Law and is currently pursuing a Ph.D in Peace, Governance, and Development at the United Nation University for Peace. Valery is a graduate from Peace Academy YAPCEC and has leadership roles in both legal and humanitarian sectors. He previously served as Head of Personals at Property Trust Group and has worked with Hope for Humanity Outreach, where he supported community-focused development initiatives. Deeply passionate about environmental issues, Valery has developed a special interest in water sustainability, an area he is actively exploring through Academic research and practical engagement. His interdisciplinary background in law, peace building and development positions him as a dynamic contributor to global conversations on governance, justice, and sustainable resource management.

PEDRO DE JESÚS VÁSQUEZ FUENMAYOR
Pedro de Jesús Vásquez Fuenmayor is a Civil Engineering student with a clear vision: to develop innovative and sustainable solutions that create a real impact. His passion for responsible construction has led him to work on projects such as Sugar Crete, an ecological alternative recognized at the XX Reto U, where he presented emergency modules built with this material. His research on circular economy in construction earned him the award for Mejor Trabajo de Investigación at the V Encuentro Iberoamericano de Estudiantes Investigadores.
Committed to advancing engineering, Pedro has explored strategies to optimize water usage and improve infrastructure in vulnerable communities. His participation in the Concurso Ideas 2024, where he was a semifinalist, and the Rally Latinoamericano de Innovación, where his project won segundo lugar en impacto social, demonstrates his ability to turn ideas into projects with tangible value.
As an Embajador de World Water Hub, Pedro seeks not only to promote the use of sustainable materials but also to inspire others to rethink construction from a more conscious perspective. His approach combines technical expertise, leadership, and purpose, driven by the belief that every initiative can be a step toward a more resilient and sustainable future.

OLIVER MAK
Oliver Mak is a rising sophomore at Hunter College High School passionate about sustainability, youth engagement, and architectural design. He has participated in programs like the ACE Mentorship and Fallingwater’s sustainability course, and is currently launching a youth architecture competition focused on climate-conscious public spaces. With over 100 volunteer hours and as the founder of NYC Chinatown’s first Interact Club, Oliver brings a commitment to community-driven change. As a World Water Hub Ambassador, he hopes to inspire youth to take action on water security and environmental resilience.

MAUREEN MKRUDE MKALI
I am a creative changemaker with a deep passion for advocacy in environmental and social impact. Being born and raised in Tanzania has shaped my desire to contribute to meaningful change within society. With a background in International Relations and Psychology, I blend research, cross-cultural understanding, creativity, and a strong belief in community and youth-led action to advocate for underrepresented communities and pressing environmental challenges. As an ambassador, I look forward to bringing a fresh, relatable voice to global issues—bridging real-life challenges with global conversations.

EUNICE WANJIRU NJERI
Eunice Wanjiru Njeri is a dedicated undergraduate final year student in Wildlife Resources Management. As a youth, I am deeply passionate about conserving Kenya’s natural heritage, with a focus on the critical link between water resources and wildlife sustainability. My appointment as a Water Ambassador empowers me to advocate for the protection and responsible management of water ecosystems—ensuring they remain a lifeline for both wildlife and communities.
Growing up in Kenya, I have always been inspired by our rich biodiversity and the delicate balance of our ecosystems. Witnessing the devastating effects of water scarcity on wildlife, I am driven to integrate water conservation into wildlife management, ensuring that both thrive in harmony.
I envision a future where water and wildlife coexist sustainably with communities actively engaged in conservation. Have engaged in water resource mapping and community awareness initiatives to reduce human-wildlife conflicts around water points.
As a Water Ambassador I am committed to bridging science, policy, and grassroots action to ensure Kenya’s water resources sustain both wildlife and future generations. My work with Kenya Wildlife Service has reinforced my belief that collaboration is key by empowering communities and leveraging research, we can secure a water-secure future for all.

MADISEN JANIGA NOVA
I’m Madisen and I have heart-stirring passion for the environment, animals, and my community. Being a part of this ambassador is just one step I’m taking in dedicating physical engagement to make a difference for our home, we only have one.

OSAGIODUWA OSHODIN
Osagioduwa Oshodin is an environmentalist and animal biologist with a background in aquatic ecology and ecosystem health. A graduate of Animal and Environmental Biology from the University of Benin, where she specialized in Hydrobiology. Osagioduwa is passionate about sustainability and conservation. Her research has focused on the distribution of freshwater fish species, the impact of water quality on aquatic life, and community-driven approaches to environmental protection. With a commitment to advancing innovative, nature-based solutions, Osagioduwa aims to bridge science and community action to promote clean water access, biodiversity conservation, and climate resilience. As an Ambassador, Osagioduwa is dedicated to inspiring collective responsibility and contributing to global efforts for a healthier planet with cleaner water.

SUCCESS OGHENERUONA UWHUSEBA
Success Ogheneruona Uwhuseba is a Nigerian aquaculture scientist, UNESCO Ocean Expert, and environmental advocate passionate about freshwater biodiversity, sustainable aquaculture, and climate resilience. He leads the award-winning Ubeji Prawn Conservation project, combining GIS, bio-sampling, and traditional knowledge to promote community-led conservation and ecosystem restoration in the Niger Delta. A graduate of Delta State University and a master’s student at the University of Benin, he is committed to using science, storytelling, and technology to protect aquatic environments and empower local communities.

FRANCIS FOKOU VINPOU
Francis Fokou Vinpou is an environmental educator and rural
development practitioner with over 10 years of experience designing
and implementing grassroots sustainability and education projects in
Cameroon. He currently serves with the Ministry of Environment,
Nature Protection and Sustainable Development (MINEPDED) in
Yaoundé, contributing to environmental communication strategies
and gender-inclusive awareness campaigns. He holds a Master in Human Sciences (2012) and is currently completing a Professionnel Master in Education, Training and Sustainable Development. He is also a holder of Higher National Diploma (HND) in agropastoral and rural production, and a Technician Diploma in Agro-pastoral Entrepreneurship (2017), equipping him with interdisciplinary skills in education, agriculture, and environment. Francis has co-designed and facilitated innovative tools such as graphic illustration tools, image boxes, and community animation guides for schools, indigenous groups, and rural communities. He has worked closely with partners like GIZ, through projects such as PROFE, PROFEC, to empower civil society organizations, support women's leadership, and implement local environmental education initiatives in the Centre, East, and Far North regions. Driven by a passion for clean water access and community education, Francis is deeply motivated to work
with World Water Hub. He believes their innovative, education-based water solutions align with his own mission to help schools and families in Cameroon especially in the North and Far North access safe water
and learn how to protect it. His experience in producing local tools, training facilitators, and managing community outreach makes him a strong partner for World Water Hub’s goals. Fluent in French and English, Francis brings both field experience and academic depth to any project aiming to improve water, education, and Sustainable development for vulnerable populations.

POONAM WAGHRI
I’m Poonam Waghri, a Human Ecology student at the College of the Atlantic and co-founder of the Mula Mutha Revival Project in Pune, India, where I work to restore polluted riverbanks through community-driven environmental action. As someone from the Waghri Denotified Tribe, I bring a personal understanding of the connections between social equity and ecological resilience. I’ve represented my college at COP29 in Baku, served as an ambassador for the World Literacy Foundation, and remain deeply committed to using storytelling, research, and grassroots engagement to build more just and sustainable communities.
